Challenge yourself on one of the world’s most rewarding trekking adventures with the 7-Day Machame Route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Often referred to as the “Whiskey Route,” the Machame Route is one of the most scenic and successful paths to Africa’s highest peak, offering breathtaking landscapes, excellent acclimatization, and a high summit success rate.
Over seven days, you’ll journey through diverse ecological zones, from lush rainforest and heathland to alpine desert and the icy summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters). Day 1: Moshi – Machame Gate – Machame Camp
Your adventure begins with a transfer from Moshi to Machame Gate for registration and a briefing with your mountain crew.
After completing park formalities, begin your hike through the lush rainforest. Towering trees, colorful birds, and playful black-and-white colobus monkeys accompany you as you gradually gain elevation.
After several hours of trekking, arrive at Machame Camp, where your crew will have your tents prepared and a warm meal waiting.

Day 5: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
